Taris Wildlife Society Gains Flagship

The Taris Wildlife Society now has its own Valor Class Republic Cruiser.

Feel free to use this as another way to travel around the galaxy cheaply.  At the moment, it is in geosynchronous orbit above the main Republic base on Section X.  We can not only pilot it to other worlds, we can choose which base we land at when we exit.  We can also activate Orbital Support features, which gives us damage, damage reduction, health, and other bonuses.

In order to upgrade and expand our cruiser, we can use several items:  Encryptions, Frameworks, and Dark Projects.  Frameworks are created out of 50 Encryptions of the same type.  Encryptions are rewarded for earning enough points during a Conquest.  Conquest Commanders reward one Encryption to everyone in the group and also drop Frameworks.  Dark Projects can be crafted.

The flagship is decorated using the guild's regular stronghold inventory.  If there are any decorations you would like to see aboard her, feel free to use the Purchase For Guild option in your stronghold decoration inventory.

Flagship Name

Our flagship needs a name and I'm looking for suggestions!

I was hoping to call it "Sword of Taris" or something related to our guild name, but that one was taken.  All flagship names on the server have to be unique.  I have a couple of other ideas, but I'm not in love with them and they might also be taken.  It would be helpful to have a long list of potential names so that hopefully one will be available.  Names shouldn't be too obviously from Star Trek, Babylon 5, Farscape, or other sci-fi franchises.  Please suggest some good names?

Flagship Expansion

These are the things we need to expand the ship:

• Dark Projects
• Engineering Frameworks
• Engineering Encryptions

We could use all kinds of frameworks and encryptions, but we'll expand faster if we stick to one type at a time.

You can get Encryptions by completing the solo and/or guild conquests.  Check your Logs screen; Conquest is right after the Missions tab.  Participation involves doing Heroic missions, killing mobs, crafting, and doing other things that you already do.  Each conquest will send you to particular planets.

• Any of the ship decorations that don't float over a little base (IE: Alliance Fighter, Republic Transport Shuttles)

Flagship Control

I have given everyone Silver keys.  I am going to try to set it up so that you can pilot the ship and activate orbital support.  Until I get it worked out, feel free to send me mail (as Kiralyn) and let me know on which planet orbital support would be most useful to you.

The current conquest is underway at CZ-198.  There are only a couple of days left.

The next conquest is 10/4 to 10/11.  It's PVP heavy.

I've parsed the favorites list down to these from various suggestions that I've received:

Our ship is now named "Taris Rising" -- thank you to everyone for the fantastic name suggestions!

We ought to have a ceremonial ship launching party.  It could start at a stronghold where we have fireworks, music, and wonderful drink-serving droids, then move on board the flagship where we can fly around the galaxy at lightspeed.  While we can't break a bottle on the side, we can pass around cantina brews that give mission bonuses.

We are still in need of all types of Encryptions which can be obtained by participating in Conquests (solo or guild), teaming up to beat special bosses, and buying them in the GTN.  These can be used to expand the flagship and its bonuses.
